The University of Texas at Tyler announced today that Kerrie Anne Ambort-Clark, faculty member within the Department of Management and Marketing, has been selected to join Leadership Women's Leadership Texas Class of 2019.
Ambort-Clark is one of 82 outstanding Texas women leaders competitively selected to participate in the longest-running women's leadership development program in the nation. Throughout the year-long program, she will have the opportunity to broaden her perspective on the state by exploring issues in four Texas cities while receiving cutting-edge information from recognized experts, government officials and other thought leaders.
"Kerrie Anne has proven herself to be a thought leader in the Soules College of Business. This program will increase her value to the college as it fulfills its role in helping The University of Texas as Tyler to become the primary educational and economic driver of East Texas," said Dr. Roger Lirely, interim dean.
Leadership Texas, now in its 37th consecutive year, is the flagship program of Leadership Women, a non-profit dedicated to producing programs to help women recognize their full potential and to encourage them make a difference in their community and in their organizations.
"The opportunity to engage in this leadership program is invaluable, providing a cutting-edge platform for me to continue to develop and influence positive change through student success, program development and engagement initiatives that will impact UT Tyler and our East Texas community," Ambort-Clark said.
As a member of the Soules College of Business faculty, Ambort-Clark is also executive director of the UT Tyler Executive MBA in Healthcare Management program and a 2018 UT System Regents' Outstanding Teaching Award recipient. In addition to her involvement with providing innovative education geared toward student success initiatives, she has provided leadership development for community stakeholders and created leadership training modules used in both academia and industry.
