The University of Texas at Tyler Palestine Campus recognized student achievement at a scholarship dinner. Members of the Palestine Campus Development Council, and scholarship donors, along with students and their families, celebrated the awarding of 2016 scholarships to students.

In 2016, 48 bachelor of science in nursing students received scholarships valued in excess of $59,300 from one or more of the endowments that have been established to assist students in attending classes at the Palestine Campus.

Those endowments are the Arch & Acie Murray Endowed Scholarship, K.A. Anderson Memorial Endowed Scholarship, Cartmell Home-Scholarship for Nursing Excellence, Memorial Hospital Foundation Endowed Scholarship and the Dr. Roberta Burris Memorial Endowed Scholarship.

The University of Texas at Tyler President Michael Tidwell told those in attendance that over a 15-year period these scholarships combined have provided in excess of $1 million in scholarships to Palestine Campus nursing students.

More than 80 undergraduate and graduate degrees are available at The University of Texas at Tyler, which has an enrollment of almost 10,000 high-ability students.
