UT Tyler Cowan Center Announces 20th Anniversary Season

Three highly entertaining Broadway shows, three hilarious comedians, four unique theatrical experiences, two glorious music concerts and "country-fried" Texas classic play will be a part of The University of Texas at Tyler R. Don Cowan Fine and Performing Arts Center 20th anniversary season, according to Susan Thomae-Morphew, executive director.

Season ticket orders for all series begin Wednesday, June 8.

Tickets can be purchased at the UT Tyler Cowan Center box office by calling 903.566.7424 or online at cowancenter.org. Box office hours are 9 a.m. – 4 p.m. Monday through Friday and one hour prior to each event. For season ticket prices, visit www.cowancenter.org.

"Our year-long celebration of the twentieth Cowan Center season will grab you from beginning to end," said Thomae-Morphew. "UT Tyler has more than doubled in size since the Cowan Center doors opened in 1997, and our programming has reached for the stars and shared them. As we celebrate our history and reminisce about extraordinary Cowan Center experiences, you'll be making new memories all season long."

Performing Arts Series:
The Aluminum Show, Oct. 29; Cirque Dreams Holidaze, Dec. 1; Les Ballets Trockadero de Monte Carlo, Feb. 21; and The Illusionists: Live from Broadway, March 9. Subscribers to this series may add tickets to stand-up comedian Jerry Seinfeld, Sept. 15.

Broadway Series:
Pippin, Jan. 31; 42nd Street, March 2; Dirty Dancing, March 21 and 22.

Encore Celebration Series:
Jeff Foxworthy, Oct. 22; and Greater Tuna, April 7. Subscribers to this series may add the 20th Anniversary Evening of Celebration Starring Jay Leno.

Braithwaite Intimate Gatherings Series:
Jackie Evancho, Jan. 21; and Jim Brickman – An Evening of Romance, Feb. 14.
Subscribers to this series may add Black Violin, April 11.

Distinguished Lecture Series:
Ben Carson, M.D., Sept. 27; and Charles Krauthammer, M.D., Oct. 25. The Charles Krauthammer lecture will be presented at the Maude Cobb Convention and Activity Center in Longview.

Arts in Education Series:
Bill Blagg's The Science of Magic, Nov. 17; ArcAttack, Feb. 17 and Black Violin on April 11. School groups may call the Cowan Center box office for order forms.
