The University of Texas at Tyler Palestine Campus recently hosted 110 high school students from the UT Tyler Innovation Academy as well as Brownsboro, Neches, Westwood and Palestine Independent School Districts.

Students participated in two showcases highlighting the bachelor of science in nursing program offered at the Palestine Campus. They spent the day attending a mini lecture, hearing from a panel of current students, participating in hands-on activities in the Simulation Lab and learning about program requirements.

"This is part of our campus outreach to local high school students who are interested in attending our nursing program," said Susan Harris, Palestine Campus administrative services officer.

UT Tyler makes its outstanding academic programs conveniently accessible to residents of the southwestern region of East Texas via the Palestine Campus. Students experience cost-saving convenience, greater flexibility in scheduling their classes and reduced travel expenses and commuting time to Tyler – all while receiving a degree from UT Tyler.
