The University of Texas at Tyler Palestine Campus recognized student achievement at
a scholarship dinner, President Rodney H. Mabry announced.
The recipients celebrated with members of the Palestine Campus Development Council
and scholarship donors.
In 2015, UT Tyler awarded endowed scholarships, valued in excess of $49,000, to 32
undergraduate nursing students attending the Palestine Campus.
The endowments funding those awards are the Arch & Acie Murray Endowed Scholarship,
K.A. Anderson Memorial Endowed Scholarship, Memorial Hospital Foundation Endowed Scholarship
and the Dr. Roberta Burris Memorial Endowed Scholarship.
Over a 15-year period these scholarships combined have provided in excess of $1 million
in scholarships to Palestine Campus nursing students, according to Mabry.
One of the 14 campuses of the UT System, UT Tyler features excellence in teaching,
research, artistic performance and community service. More than 80 undergraduate and
graduate degrees are available at UT Tyler, which has an enrollment of more than 8,500
high-ability students. UT Tyler offers courses at its campuses in Tyler, Longview
and Palestine as well as a location in Houston.
