The University of Texas at Tyler will offer the 10th annual "Outdoor Adventure" to the New England area and Canada this summer, Bob Hepler, recreational sports director, announced.
Registration for the "Great Maine & Canada Outdoor Adventure Trip" begins today, March 1. Cost is $1,050 for UT Tyler students, $1,500 for UT Tyler faculty/staff and $1,900 for the general public. It includes round trip airfare from Dallas Love Field to Boston, all activities, lodging and most meals.
"This year's trip features white water rafting, sailing, sea kayaking, hiking, surfing, two days in Boston, mountain climbing, Aerial Adventure Course, Adventure Race and much more. You'll need a passport and a good level of physical fitness," Hepler said. "The class 4 and 5 rapids on the rafting days and the climbing of Mount Katahdin are worthy of their own reality TV shows. An additional $30 will get you into Fenway Park to see the Boston Red Sox play."
A non-refundable $550 payment is needed to reserve a spot. Full payment deadline is Monday, July 1.
The group will travel July 20 – Aug. 1, 2016 and visit Boston, the Great North Woods, Downeast Maine (Machias), the Southern Maine coast, Fredericton, NB, Canada and the New Brunswick coast (Bay of Fundy).
The UT Tyler Department of Recreational Sports enhances student life and campus wellness through a variety of activities and programs, which includes club and intramural sports, fitness classes, "Outdoor Adventures" and wellness education.
