The University of Texas at Tyler Fine Arts Complex Gallery will feature the public student art exhibition, “Push & Pull,” beginning Monday, Nov. 9, Ray Sikes, gallery coordinator, announced.
The semester’s first student thesis exhibition highlights the works of UT Tyler bachelor of fine arts degree candidates Natavia Gamble of Athens, Elizabeth Groth of Tyler and Wesley Stolusky of Kaufman.
A public reception with gallery talks will be 6 – 7:30 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 10 at the gallery. The exhibition will conclude Friday, Nov. 20.
“Gamble works in wooden sculpture. She creates work focuses on the ideal form. Her abstract forms contain social subject matter,” Sikes said. “Groth constructs installation work that juxtaposes organic and geometric forms. Her work focuses on the physical interaction between the work and viewer. Stolusky creates large-scale metal sculptures. His work discusses the impossibility of capturing perfect order. All the student artists’ works have been nationally exhibited.”
The gallery is located in the Fine Arts Complex on UT Tyler’s main campus. Hours are 9 a.m. – 5 p.m. Monday through Friday and by special appointment.

The UT Tyler bachelor of fine arts degree program offers students an opportunity to concentrate in two-dimensional studio art, three-dimensional studio art, multi-media art, art history or general studio art. Students may also seek an all-level teaching certification with the degree.
