The University of Texas at Tyler Department of Music will offer an All-Region Workshop for high school instrumental students, Dr. Michael Thrasher, School of Performing Arts director, announced.

The event will be Saturday, Sept. 26 in the Braithwaite lobby of the UT Tyler R. Don Cowan Fine and Performing Arts Center. The clinic will provide instruction for both the Texas Music Educators Association etudes and the Association of Texas Small School Bands etudes.

To register online, visit https://goo.gl/xCmoV3. Online registration deadline is 5 p.m. Friday, Sept. 25.

“The purpose of this free clinic is to help students learn their music for this year’s All-Region Band auditions,” said Dr. Sarah Roberts, UT Tyler assistant professor and workshop coordinator. “TMEA etudes will be the focus of the morning workshop, and ATSSB etudes will be the afternoon workshop. Students are asked to register prior to the event, though day-of registration is accepted but not preferred.”

Student participants should bring their instrument, a wire stand and their region music.
