The spring 2015 graduates of The University of Texas at Tyler Longview University
Center nursing program achieved a 100 percent pass rate on the National Council Licensure
Examination, Dr. Van Patterson, Longview University Center director, announced.
“We are very proud of our students and of this major accomplishment,” said Dr. Helene Hakim, director of UT Tyler Longview nursing programs. “The faculty and staff of the LUC want to congratulate each of the spring 2015 BSN graduates for passing the NCLEX. Graduates of nursing programs cannot practice as a RN until they pass the licensure exam. This is a crowning achievement for them and for our program.”
This achievement is the highlight to date of a great year for the UT Tyler Longview University Center nursing program.
“Our students, faculty and staff are involved in the community and their efforts help ensure that Longview continues to be a wonderful place to live,” said Patterson. “The nursing program has an outstanding reputation and as a result it is expanding. This fall 40 to 43 new students will be offered admittance to the bachelor of science in nursing program. This will be a record for the Longview University Center as the entering class will be more than 33 percent larger than in previous years. It is a good time to be at the LUC.”
One of the 15 campuses of the UT System, UT Tyler features excellence in teaching, research, artistic performance and community service.
