Student leaders and organizations at The University of Texas at Tyler were recognized during the 2015 Student Leadership and Service Awards Banquet, Ona Tolliver, assistant vice president and dean of students, announced.

UT Tyler students, faculty and staff submitted nominees, and a selection committee consisting of faculty and staff chose winners. The UT Tyler Department of Student Life and Leadership sponsored the awards reception, which is in its ninth year.

The 2015 awards and recipients are:

Leadership and Service Ambassadors – Zachary Bourne, Kimberly Cole and Radha Nabar, all of Houston; Amisha Chudasama, Sarah Draper and Courtney Stewart, all of Tyler; and David Santoy of Winnsboro

GiveBack Individual Award – Jamie Jackson of Tyler

GiveBack Student Organization Award – Alpha Chi Omega

Student Government Association Spirit Award – Nabar

SGA Senator of the Year – Alex Medina of Tyler

SGA Project of the Year – Jacob Van Der Schans of Frisco for “Duro Fix It,” an on-campus bike service station

SGA Extra Mile Award – Ryan Davis of Tyler

Dr. Robert Jones Leadership Award – Kelsey Jolly of Houston

Legacy Awards – Sam Cline of Eustace and Jolly

Emerging Leader Award – Bourne

Fraternity Man of the Year – Taylor Kemp of Tyler

Sorority Woman of the Year – Hannah Martindale of Tyler

Greek Cup – Alpha Chi Omega

Outstanding Student Organization Member – Bourne

Outstanding Student Organization President – Venu Gopal Ealuri of Tyler

Outstanding Student Organization – Sigma Alpha Epsilon

Outstanding Student Affairs Professional: Graduate Assistant – Sindhu Pakala of India

Outstanding Student Affairs Professional: New Professional – Christina Gibson, student development specialist-student money management

Outstanding Student Affairs Professional: Full-time – Chase Ragland, student development specialist-leadership and service programs

Outstanding Student Organization Adviser – Dr. Karen Koerber-Timmons, UT Tyler Longview University Center clinical instructor
