The University of Texas at Tyler Meadows Gallery will feature the first UT Tyler Master of Fine Arts Alumni Art Exhibition beginning Tuesday, Sept. 2, Ray Sikes, gallery coordinator, announced.

All 14 participating artists are UT Tyler alumni, who have earned their master of fine arts degree from the university.

“Of the 14, some are teachers, some are independent artists, and some work for museums and galleries. All are still practicing artists producing a variety of art in many different mediums,” Sikes said.

A reception and gallery talks will be 6 – 7:30 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 11 at the gallery. The exhibition will continue through Friday, Oct. 10.

Featured alumni this year are Joanette Duncan, Tommy Nays, Brandon Nepote, Jonathan Syltie, Mark Anderson, Allison Chew, Jennifer Shepard, Chelsey Cope, Sue Duran, Abhidnya Ghuge, Michal Durham, Paula McDermott, Briana Sutton and Miles Mayfield.

The Meadows Gallery is located in the UT Tyler R. Don Cowan Fine and Performing Arts Center. Gallery hours are 9 a.m. – 5 p.m. Monday through Friday and by special appointment.
