The Patriot Talon, The University of Texas at Tyler’s student-run media outlet, is hosting Talon Talks: East Texas Job Outlook 2014 11:30 a.m. - 1 p.m. Wednesday, March 26 in the University Center Ballroom. Business leaders from top East Texas industries will share their knowledge on landing a job and building a career.
Tom Mullins, president/CEO of the Tyler Economic Development Council; Terrence Dixon, vice president of human resources for Brookshire Grocery Company; Tom Wilken, senior vice president/chief human resources officer of Trinity Mother Frances Hospitals and Clinics; and Gary Bass, human resources manager/recruiting coordinator of Eastman Chemical Company, will answer questions about getting a job, building a career and the overall job outlook for East Texas in 2014.
“I think that the Talon Talks event is attractive to students and people in the community who are looking for jobs, or looking to start their career or restart their career,” said Kevin Dilley, senior lecturer and faculty adviser to the Patriot Talon. "I think the men that are coming come from great companies in the community and they have great careers of their own that they’ve had to cultivate and build over the years so they’ll have their own personal experiences to share."
The event is co-sponsored by Bruno’s Pizza and Pasta and Rocket Fizz. Bruno’s will be providing a free lunch to registered attendees. The registration form can be found on the Talon website.
