The University of Texas at Tyler will hold its first Homeschool Day for prospective home-schooled students and their families 8:30 a.m. – 1 p.m. Friday, Nov. 15 at the UT Tyler University Center.
The event will include information about admission requirements for home- schoolers and a Q&A panel of current UT Tyler students who were home-schooled.
To register, visit www.uttyler.edu/soules-college-of-business/undergraduate-advising. Online registration deadline is 5 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 14. Walk-in registration begins at 8:30 a.m. on Nov. 15.
UT Tyler Homeschool Day is part of the College of Business and Technology’s ongoing recruitment and retention plan. Though the UT Tyler College of Business and Technology is helping the Office of Admissions host the event, all UT Tyler colleges and majors will be represented.
“We want to expand on the great job the UT Tyler admissions office already does reaching the public schools. We want to make sure home-schooled families right here in East Texas know that there is a place for them on our campus,” said Amanda Ritchie, College of Business and Technology academic adviser.
Lunch will be provided.
“We look forward to recruiting home-schooled students because our past experience with them as students and employees has been excellent,” said Dr. Kerri Camp, College of Business and Technology director of undergraduate advising.
