To further assist graduate students with their academic and professional success, The Graduate School at The University of Texas at Tyler currently offers the Fall 2013 Graduate Student Workshop Series, Dr. William Geiger, school dean, announced.
Registration and other workshop-related information may be found at http://www.uttyler.edu/graduate/students/workshops.php.
“This is the third year for the series, and the response to the workshops has been very encouraging. As our graduate student population continues to grow, we are excited that the workshop series is expanding too,” said Dr. Alecia Wolf, assistant dean of The Graduate School.
The Graduate School has partnered with faculty members, as well as the Offices of the Registrar and Career Services and the UT Tyler Robert R. Muntz Library staff to offer a broader range of workshop topics this fall.
“The workshops combine theory and hands-on practice and cover graduate-level scholarly research, writing and presentation skills, as well as preparing for the GRE, formatting a thesis or dissertation, using citation managers, resume labs – even applying for graduation. Anyone with an interest is encouraged to attend,” said Jameshia ‘Nic’ Granberry, UT Tyler assistant director of graduate admissions and workshop series organizer.
