The University of Texas at Tyler President’s Associates fund achieved a second-consecutive record year, President Rodney H. Mabry announced.

President’s Associates members, who contribute to the UT Tyler President’s discretionary annual fund, have given the university $162,000. This amount is the largest raised in the fund’s 32-year history and surpasses last year’s record of $143,000.

Members and their contribution were recognized during a reception Sept. 12.

“I am honored to see such a strong outpouring of community support. To see this fund hit a record for the second year in a row speaks volumes about this community and its dedication to our students,” President Mabry said.

The contributed funds allow the President to address critical issues, assist in the enhancement of educational programs and provide community outreach.

“Over the past two years, this fund has increased by more than $40,000. We are very grateful to have a group of associates who are willing to help our students and faculty by making discretionary funds available for students with unexpected financial needs, for student groups, like debate and music, and support for faculty development,” President Mabry added.
