The University of Texas at Tyler has been recognized for providing students a learning atmosphere dedicated to personal attention and individual success, Dr. Alisa White, provost and senior vice president for academic affairs, announced.

UT Tyler ranked 12th out of all four-year, public Texas institutions studied by The College Database, an independent resource. Their analysis shows UT Tyler’s student-to-faculty ratio, in relation to enrollment, is among the best in the state.

“Being named a ‘Top College for Personal Attention’ by a nationwide organization is well-deserved and a testament to the thousands of hours UT Tyler faculty and staff dedicate to students each year,” White said.

The website set out to find the post-secondary institutions in Texas with enrollments exceeding 5,000 students, but with less than 20 students per faculty member.

This is the first year The College Database assembled such a group. For the complete list, visit http://www.onlinecollegesdatabase.org/online-colleges-in-texas/#best-student-teacher-ratio-colleges.

“Our professors create an innovative and engaging atmosphere in the classroom every day, which is shared campus-wide and provides students with a unique college experience. It is rewarding to see UT Tyler professors and staff being acknowledged for their dedication to individual student success,” White added.

The College Database is a not-for-profit organization whose goal is to provide free information about educational options both nationally and locally to students, parents and other interested parties.
