The University of Texas at Tyler has adopted an online tool developed to assist students with both academic and career goals, President Rodney H. Mabry announced.
MyEdu is an online student platform for planning and successfully completing college. With MyEdu, UT Tyler students can design class schedules, develop a personal education plan, track assignments and calculate their GPAs.
“In addition to their academic advisor and faculty mentor, MyEdu is a tool that can facilitate the academic success of our UT Tyler students,” said Dr. Scott Marzilli, UT Tyler assistant vice president for teaching innovation and student success. “MyEdu not only helps student smoothly transition from one semester to the next, it also allows them to create an electronic portfolio highlighting all of their academic accomplishments throughout the years.”
Since its kickoff in 2011, numerous colleges and universities throughout the country have engaged MyEdu. The program has been recently enhanced to include the MyEdu Student Profile and MyEdu for Employers.
“MyEdu has already helped millions of students navigate a clear path to their academic goals,” said Michael Crosno, founder, chairman and CEO of MyEdu. “Now, MyEdu is tackling the challenge of matching students and young professionals with employers.”
In the MyEdu Student Profile, students are able to display their skills and experience, giving them an advantage in the job search process. The profile allows students to visually present their classes, projects, internships, talents and values that make them unique.
“MyEdu is part of the next generation of job search tools for college students. Students who fully develop their profile are increasing their visibility to employers nationwide,” said Marilyn Albert, UT Tyler Office of Career Services director.
The student profile can also be tailored to highlight personal experiences such as group projects, language skills, military service, certifications, community service and work history.
MyEdu also assists employers in their hiring process and when selecting interns. The online portal extends their reach across campuses, connecting with students and building relationships with potential job candidates.
UT Tyler students who need assistance in creating their profiles on MyEdu may call the Office of Career Services, 903.565.5862.

MyEdu is the top destination for college students to manage their academic journey, build their first professional profile, and connect with employers. From the day they begin college students can utilize MyEdu’s data-rich applications to plan their course of study, visually display their skills and credentials, connect with hiring managers and secure jobs and internships. The platform is currently used by more than 1 million students across thousands of campuses nationwide and has been endorsed by corporations and major higher education institutions for its mission to increase Return on Education (ROE). MyEdu is based in Austin, TX and backed by the University of Texas System and Bain Capital Ventures. Visit MyEdu.com for more information.
