The University of Texas at Tyler Meadows Gallery will feature the 2013 Studio Art Faculty Exhibition now through Friday, Sept. 20, Ray Sikes, gallery coordinator, announced.
The exhibition highlights work by the following UT Tyler Department of Art and Art History faculty: Abhidnya Ghuge, Gary Hatcher, Dewane Hughes, James Pace, Alexis Serio, Sikes and Merrie Wright.
A public opening reception will be 6 – 7:30 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 29 at the gallery. Special lectures presented by each artist will be announced.
“The Studio Art Faculty Exhibition provides a chance for students, the campus community and the community at large to view the artwork of the Department of Art and Art History’s teaching faculty. This work is displayed so that students can see that the studio faculty not only teach, but that they are also highly respected practicing artists,” Sikes said.
The Meadows Gallery is located in the UT Tyler R. Don Cowan Fine and Performing Arts Center.
Gallery hours are 9 a.m. – 5 p.m. Monday through Friday and by special appointment.
