Sheryl Dennis will serve as chair of the Southern Association of College and University Business Officers’ Comprehensive Colleges Committee, Dr. Randall Powell, vice president for business affairs at The University of Texas at Tyler, announced.
Dennis is UT Tyler’s associate vice president for business affairs.
As chair of the SACUBO Comprehensive Colleges Committee, she will manage presentations and professional development for all committee members. The chair also works with the SACUBO first vice president as well as the national association’s Member Relations Council.
The committee’s mission is to identify, articulate and represent the distinct professional interests and issues of comprehensive college and university members and to provide professional development, membership services and networking opportunities within that focus for the SACUBO organization.
Dennis has been a committee member since May 2012.
Serving UT Tyler since 2007, Dennis holds a bachelor of business administration degree in accounting from Stephen F. Austin State University and a master of science degree from Texas A&M University.
The Southern Association of College and University Business Officers was founded in 1928 to inform higher education institutions in the southern region of the United States of issues that affect higher education.
Its purpose is to foster, develop and promote improved principles and efficient practices in the business and financial management of colleges and universities. SACUBO is one of four regional associations that constitute the National Association of College and University Business Officers.
