The University of Texas at Tyler is among the top 25 affordable Texas colleges and universities offering online courses, Dr. Alisa White, provost and senior vice president for academic affairs, announced.

Independent partners StateStats.org and OnlineSchoolsTexas.com compiled their list of the top institutions that offer some or all of their courses online. They analyzed data such as student-to-teacher ratio, in-state and out-of-state tuition, campus setting and program breadth.

“UT Tyler is committed to providing opportunities for students to take courses to fit their learning styles and their lifestyles,” White said. “Our faculty strives to offer the best learning experience in all course formats.”

This is the first year the organizations assembled such a group. For the complete list, visit www.onlineschoolstexas.com.

UT Tyler students save time and get ahead by choosing online classes, along with on-campus courses, or by entering degree programs that can be completed entirely online.

“Students enter college with a lot of experience with technology,” she added. “They expect to use technology to enhance their academic experience and to allow them some flexibility as they work toward their degrees.”
