The University of Texas at Tyler will offer its annual travel/study course to Turkey for the spring 2013 semester, Dr. Jill Blondin, Center for Global Education director, announced.
The trip is open to both students and non-students. “Turkey: Crossroads of Civilizations” may be counted as three undergraduate- or graduate-level semester credit hours for UT Tyler students. Cost is $1,548 plus international and domestic airfare and includes ground transportation, accommodations and most meals.
A $548 deposit is due on Friday, Dec. 3. Full payment deadline is Friday, Jan. 4, 2013. Participants will travel to Turkey March 8 – 17, 2013 and study various aspects of the country, including philosophy, Roman and Greek literature, art history and political science and biblical components.
“This is a wonderful opportunity for our students to experience the historical sites of Turkey. The group will be led by Dr. Manoucher Khosrowshahi, an expert who has led many successful trips to Turkey,” Blondin said.
Khosrowshahi is an adjunct professor in the UT Tyler Department of Social Sciences and also serves as a faculty member at Tyler Junior College.
Scholarship funds are available.
