The University of Texas at Tyler will offer a travel/study course to Costa Rica next summer, Dr. Jill Blondin, Center for Global Education director, announced.

The trip is open to all students, regardless of where they are enrolled, and non-students. “UT Tyler Spanish Immersion” may be counted as six undergraduate- or graduate-level semester credit hours. Estimated cost, excluding UT Tyler tuition, is $2,460 and includes round-trip airfare, room and board, fees and instruction at La Universidad Nacional de Costa Rica, one of the top universities in Central America.

An information meeting will be 2 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 14 in the UT Tyler Business Building, room 252. Those who miss the meeting may still be able to participate.

Full payment deadline is Monday, April 1, 2013. Participants will travel to Costa Rica July 14 – Aug. 3, 2013 to study seminal works of Latin American literature in translation and receive Spanish language instruction at LUN. The class will meet several times on the UT Tyler campus prior to traveling.

A valid and current U.S. passport is required.

Limited scholarships and financial aid funding are also available.
