Sam Carrell will present at the Academy of Human Resource Development International Research
Conference in the Americas Feb. 19 – 21 in St. Louis. A UT Tyler double alumnus, Carrell
is the UT Tyler associate registrar. He has served the university since 2008.
The first of two presentations is a literature review titled, “Trends and Findings
in the Managerial Coaching Literature, 2009-2014.” It is being presented as a refereed
full manuscript.
The second presentation is a qualitative abstract study titled, “Resistors to Managerial
Coaching,” which reports on a group study that investigates internal and environmental
resistance factors that may prevent managers acting as coaches in the workplace.
Both will be presented as an interactive roundtable session as part of the conference’s
“workplace learning” track.
Carrell holds a bachelor of business administration and a master of business administration,
both from UT Tyler. He currently is enrolled in the university’s Ph.D. in human resource
development program.
