For the traditional BSN program, students may attend courses on one of three campuses. The RN to BSN and concurrent programs are online.

More than 82% of employers strongly preferred hiring BSN program graduates.

Curriculum

Earn your BSN through one of three tracks: the generic BSN, the concurrent ADN-BSN or the RN-BSN.

All students must complete the Texas core curriculum and prerequisite nursing requirements with a grade of “C” or better and a minimum GPA of 3.0 (4.0 basis) in order to qualify for admission.

Generic BSN

Complete the BSN curriculum and graduate to qualify to sit for the NCLEX-RN®. UT Tyler produces professional nurses ready for practice.

Generic BSN Requirements

Concurrent ADN-BSN

Complete UT Tyler’s generic BSN at the same time you’re enrolled in an accredited ADN program. Work through 30 credit hours of BSN-level classes while finishing your ADN courses.

RN-BSN

With the online RN-BSN degree track, earn a career-advancing degree while continuing to work. Full-time UT Tyler nursing faculty specializing in online learning teach these courses. Enroll year- round to take the next step in delivering patient care.

• UT Tyler automatically accepts students from the Top 25% of graduating classes in Texas.
• Students from the 2nd to 4th quartiles must have a 2.75 or higher GPA.

Nursing Admission Requirements

The School of Nursing considers students for full undergraduate admissions if they have completed all the Texas core curriculum requirements and nursing prerequisites with a minimum grade point average of 3.00. Please send all supporting transcripts to the Admissions Office.

The School of Nursing grants conditional admissions if a student has no more than five outstanding courses to fulfill core curriculum and prerequisite requirements by the deadline and has a minimum 3.0 cumulative GPA for all completed core curriculum and nursing prerequisite classes.

The concurrent Associate Degree in Nursing/Bachelor of Science in Nursing accommodates motivated students currently enrolled in an accredited ADN program. Students complete 30 hours of BSN-level coursework at the same time they finish their ADN requirements. Our partners include:
