Campus Advocacy

The University of Texas at Tyler

Campus Resources

Would you like to talk to someone at The University of Texas at Tyler about something that has happened or is happening against your will or against the will of another student?

An advocate is available to listen with complete confidentiality to anything you wish to share and can help you evaluate what to do. You may request an appointment by contacting the Student Counseling Center at 903.566.7254.

The Student Counseling Center, open 8 a.m. - 5 p.m. in the University Center, Room 3170, also offers ongoing confidential counseling to UT Tyler students. Counselors are available for individual and group appointments as well as consultation.

Whether or not you choose to access our campus advocacy services, you are encouraged to report any incidents that may violate university policy to Judicial Affairs or the dean of students.

Additional to the resources, policies and procedures, all students must be aware of the rights of student victims of violence and the Campus Assault Response Effort (CARE).
