Did you know that there is a Public Access Bleeding Control Kit in every classroom and lab on campus, as well as specific public spaces, such as the Library, HPC Gym and the University Center?
Would you know how to use the contents during a bleeding emergency?
The purpose of the Stop The Bleed campaign is to better prepare the public to save lives if others nearby are severely bleeding. This is being done by raising awareness and teaching individuals three quick actions to control serious bleeding.
Through our Stop The Bleed course, you’ll gain the ability to recognize life-threatening bleeding and intervene effectively. The person next to a bleeding victim may be the one who’s most likely to save their life.
Take the class and become empowered to make a life-or-death difference when a bleeding emergency occurs. Stop The Bleed. Save a Life!
Want to get certified on your own time in 30 minutes or less? The Hybrid option is for you!
Those interested can get certified in Stop The Bleed by watching a 20-minute video online and then practicing the learned life-saving skills with a UT Tyler STB Initiative member on campus. The online and face-to-face portions are both required for certification. E-mail Elizabeth Caulkins at ecaulkins@uttyler.edu to arrange.
