Prosenjit presented AgroDrone, a project that uses Internet of Things (IoT) devices, Unmanned Aerial Vehicle (UAV) images, and machine learning methods that detect current cotton diseases, predict potential diseases, and suggest pesticides to prevent them, with the potential to be used in other agriculture. Prosenjit is an MS in Electrical Engineering student at UT Tyler, graduating in Spring 2023, and will continue pursuing a Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering.
SlouchX, Md Fahim Shahriar, Diala Bani Mustafa, and Md Irfan Khan, is an innovative chair attachment that combines sensors and an app to help you correct bad posture while sitting, tracking improvements over time. As soon-to-graduate students from the MS in Mechanical Engineering program at UT Tyler, Fahim, Diala, and Irfan are planning to continue pursuing their Ph.D. studies and the validation and development of SlouchX products.
Smart Artificial Ventilator presented by Sufian Almitwali, is the next generation of smart AVD. The Smart Artificial Ventilator will couple the artificial respiration with medication dosing in one device, combining the development and programming of a sophisticated feedback control system and the measurement of key patient indicators, including SpO2, heart rate, and lung airflow in real-time, and adjust the flow rate of air into the lung optimally. Sufian is an international student in the MS in Mechanical Engineering program at UT Tyler, graduating in Fall 2023; he will continue pursuing his Ph.D. and research studies.

The inaugural competition featured business ideas ranging from medical devices to education to new uses for blockchain/crypto currency. The winners of the UT Tyler Business Model Competition were:
First-place winner Plant Fit (Nafize Ishtiaque Hossain and Tanzila Noushin) positions themselves as the "Fit Bit" for plants. Their intent is for use in large scale agriculture (slide deck),
Second-place Smart Wound Patch (Alina Pereira) is a wearable sensor to detect bacteria levels, control delivery of medication, and reports data via software app toward greater efficacy in chronic wound care (slide deck),
Third-place Taro (Sofia Tamayo) is a kitchen utensil which allows for the easy removal of food contents from a can while eliminating the dangers of other methods (slide deck).
