In order to recruit and retain excellent peace officers, UT Tyler has adopted the State of Texas Peace Officer Schedule C Pay Scale which makes us very competitive with the local market.  Current State of Texas Schedule C pay scale is located HERE

Police Cadet starts at Line C1 while attending basic peace officer licensing course.  Upon passing the state licensing examination, Line C2.

Lateral entry officers from other agencies with 4 years experience start at line C3 ($62,715)

Lateral entry officers from another UT System Police agency start at the line commensurate with their UT System years of service.
