Carl Baranowski serves as the university’s vice president and chief legal officer. Before UT Tyler, he served 10 years as counsel to a $3B multistate hospital system. Prior positions include general counsel at companies in diverse industries and private practice with major law firms. Co-author of one of the most popular attorney desk references on technology law, he also authored the first comprehensive, worldwide survey of biotechnology law. He holds three degrees from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology and a Juris Doctorate and Master of Business Administration from Stanford University.
