MSN Family Nurse Practitioner

Talesh FreemanStudent Name:  Talesh Freeman, BSN, RN

Program: Master of Science in Nursing – Family Nurse Practitioner

Hometown: Pittsburg, Texas but I have lived in Tyler for the past 8 years

Undergraduate Institution: UT Tyler

Graduation Year: 2007 (Undergraduate Program), 2014 (Graduate Program)

Why did you choose to attend UT Tyler?

I chose UT Tyler for several reasons. One, I had a great undergraduate learning experience here. UT Tyler's Family Nurse Practitioner Program also has a 100% pass rate for the national certification exam and is close to home and does not require me to commute.

What are your career goals and how does your graduate program support them?

My career goal is to become a Family Nurse Practitioner with future hopes of possibly owning my own clinic. UT Tyler's graduate program supports my career goals by providing a hybrid program, which allows schedule flexibility. As a coach's wife and mom, having that flexibility without the need to be on-campus everyday was very important for my family.

What do you like most about UT Tyler?

What I like most about UT Tyler is having professors that genuinely care about the success of the student. No, the level of caring from each professor isn't the same, but overall, I feel that almost every professor I have encountered are sincere in helping students to reach their career goals.
