What attracted you to this field?

Computer Science is a dynamic field which is ever-developing and constantly evolving field of study. With my natural interest in computers and an urge to gain understanding of this field was what prompted me to take 'Computer Science' as my Bachelors degree in Jawaharlal Nehru Technological University known as one of the best universities in India. I believed a more extensive professional knowledge at the graduate level would serve me well to prepare myself for the global scenario. Pursuing a Master's Degree in Computer Science helped me to move closer towards my career objectives.

Why did you choose UT Tyler?

UT Tyler provided me with the freedom of academics and the variety of courses offered giving me a chance to work alongside persons of various nationalities in a global setting. Among the universities I applied to, UT Tyler made me feel more welcome with their quick response time on the questions I had. I was awarded a New Graduate Fellowship which was really helpful for me in order to concentrate on my education without a financial barrier in mind. The above reasons made me choose UT Tyler as my school for my masters.

What did you like most about UT Tyler?

I liked the welcoming nature of the campus community and the professors towards the students. I particularly liked the way the students have the freedom to share their views and ideas with the professors in order to get guidance from them. The other thing I liked the most in UT Tyler was as an international student I had a great opportunity to learn the culture and lifestyle of domestic and other nations with its diversified students from different parts of the world.

What are your career aspirations?

I aspire to become a software architect in order to play a prominent role in building the future. My aspirations are to get updated with the innovative technologies which are being developed every day. I would like to see myself as a CEO of a company in few years (I believe in dreaming big when we can and strive hard in order fulfill the dream).

What's your work experience?

I worked with UT Tyler Office of Graduate admissions as a Graduate Assistant. It was a great experience for me to work with our team. I believe I have learned a lot of things, not just related to my work but also as they have helped me build my leadership abilities too.

Do you have any advice to pass along to other students interested in this program?

Yes, I wanted to let the prospective students know that, Friends, Master's is just not education at a graduate level. The experiences you gain in master's life will help to build your personality and give you confidence in handling things. Please, don't get depressed in case of any difficulties or failures; instead move forward and face them. I am telling you this based on my personal experience; you will be successful or at least learn a lot from them. So, Never GIVE UP!
