Why did you choose to attend UT Tyler?

I wanted to pursue my master's in reading to be the best reading intervention teacher I could be. I had a lot of questions, and felt they could be answered through furthering my education. I looked into several programs, asked questions, researched online and all roads pointed to UT Tyler. I knew I’d made the right choice from the very first semester of study.

What are your career goals and how does your graduate program support them?

My career goal is to do the best job that I can do, serving the students that I serve. At the present time, there’s nothing else I want to do more. It also my desire to be better able to serve my campus as a reading specialist, be providing information and resources to assist my fellow teachers.

What do you like most about UT Tyler?

The professors are better than I could have even imagined. It is an online program, but I never felt like a number on a class roster. You email with a question or a concern, and you have almost immediate response. They encourage and welcome close connections with Skype, Zoom, telephone, etc. I always knew they were working with me to help me do my best. Through their generosity of their time and expertise, I have learned so much, and been exposed to so many kinds of resources that I would have never known about.
