Why did you choose to attend UT Tyler?

I chose The University of Texas at Tyler because of the unrivaled Department of Art and Art History faculty, staff, and student body. The possibilities and opportunities offered through this program have allowed me to expand as an artist and professional.

What are your career goals and how does your graduate program support them?

I plan on submitting my research and work in public and private institutions. After graduating I will apply for further residencies and fellowships as an emerging artist. I plan on teaching at the university level to foster and encourage future generations of artists. My program and committee have put me in direct contact with the people and institutions that will help me see these goals manifest.

What do you like most about UT Tyler?

The intimate class setting and accessibility. My professors know me by name, and even professors in other departments know me and have taken interest in the work I am doing. I can work and research in my studio 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. I feel like my needs as a student are considered and addressed by my faculty, and that they truly care about me.
