Why did you choose to attend UT Tyler?

UT Tyler provided this southern girl who loves animals with the best opportunity to receive a Master’s degree in Biology! My research opportunity allows me to do extensive field research and help conserve the Kisatchie Painted Crayfish. My advisor, Dr. Lance Williams, also sold me on the school’s atmosphere. It reminds me of home! My research is the primary reason for attending and I have grown to love the college!

What are your career goals and how does your graduate program support them?

I intend to become a Wildlife Veterinarian that specializes in species that are of high conservation concern! This Master’s degree will provide me with additional training and education to utilize as a vet. Not to mention, the research itself is awesome, so it should land me a publication or two.

What do you like most about UT Tyler?

I love the small town feel that UT Tyler has. I come from a small town and it made me feel at home as soon as I got here. The faculty are great and treat you as if you are one of their children and the opportunities are abundant!
