Why did you choose to attend UT Tyler?

I applied to the UT Tyler master's program because this school was the perfect size to allow me to directly work with teachers and students in an excellent face to face setting that I knew would be both personable and a great experience. The school also allowed me the opportunity to get directly involved in scientific research and student teaching to further surround me with the best academic experience.

What are your career goals and how does your graduate program support them?

My goal after I graduate is to stay involved in the scientific community by finding an instructor position at the college level and sign on to continue working with a research team until I am able to go on to get a PhD. My research interests for the future include human motor control and learning, cardiology, neurology, and rehabilitative exercise.

What do you like most about UT Tyler?

My favorite thing about UT Tyler is that I'm not just a student ID number and a scantron, but instead I have a direct connection with each of my professors who all know my name and know what I want to learn in their class. I spent one year of my undergrad at a D1 school that made it very difficult to establish any real connection with the instructors, but when I transferred to UT Tyler I knew the first day of class that this was the best place to receive my education.
