What attracted you to this field?

I grew up in a small town learning engineering concepts through experiences. The childhood curiosity to dismantle toys, appliances, vehicles etc. laid the foundation of understanding mechanical principles, product design, quality and engineering concepts . Getting into mechanical engineering was a natural outcome of my childhood interest and experiences.

Why did you choose UT Tyler?

I chose UT Tyler because it offered courses in the field of my interest and in line with my past experience. Though I realized it after joining UT Tyler, its proximity to Trane (one of the largest air conditioning companies) gave me a very exciting opportunity to work as a Co-op and apply my academic learning to the real life products. UT Tyler also provided excellent scholarship program to support my education without which it would have been difficult for me to pursue my higher education.

What do you like most about UT Tyler?

UT Tyler has a very beautiful and pleasant campus. The long evening walks around the campus to de-stress myself and rejuvenate my spirits, I enjoyed the most. The serenity of the campus helped me being more productive and focused in my studies.

What are your career aspirations?

I want to be in a leadership position, leading and inspiring team of young engineers to create meaningful and beneficial products for the society, especially the masses.

What's your work experience?

I have worked in automobile, mining and refrigeration industry. I am enjoying my current role with Whirlpool engineering team designing high end built-in refrigerators.

Do you have any advice to pass along to other students interested in this program?

Always focus on learning new things. Knowledge is power. Do not limit your dreams. If you can visualize it, you can achieve it.
