Biography

Margot Purdy is the Career Success Coach for the College of Engineering. She joined The University of Texas at Tyler Career Success team in August 2023. Margot is a certified Global Career Development Facilitator through the Center for Credentialing & Education, a NACE-Certified Career Coach, and a Gallup-Certified Strengths Coach. 

Prior to joining UT Tyler, Margot held various roles for 5 years at the University of Arkansas Office of Career Connections, including 3.5 years on the Engineering Career Connections team as the Career Events, Internship & Co-op Coordinator. Additionally, she has 9+ years of experience as a teacher in both the public and private sectors. She is passionate about helping students and alumni achieve their career goals while leading joyful, well-balanced lives! 

Margot received a Bachelor of Science in Education from Kennesaw State University in Kennesaw, Georgia. She is a current member of SoACE (Southern Association of Colleges and Employers) and NACE (National Association of Colleges and Employers). She was previously a member of CEIA (Cooperative Education and Internship Association) and served on the Board of Directors for AACE (Arkansas Association of Colleges and Employers) from 2022-2023. Margot is the 2021-2022 recipient of the AACE President’s Award in recognition of innovative and outstanding service to students and for enhancing the field of career services by sharing those innovations with the AACE membership.
