Amy Swindell, a native of Sulphur Springs, TX, holds a Bachelor of Business Administraiton degree in Marketin gfrom The Universty of Texas at Austion. She began her career as a client relations manager for a marketing services firm in Lubbock, TX. Later, she relacted to El Paso, earned her real estate sales license and Texas Broker's license, and owned a small real estate brokerage, allowing her to balance her professional and personal life while raising three young daughters. When her youngest entered second grade, Amy transitioned to a sales role in the elevator industry, eventually managing El Paso's elevator division for a Fortune Global 500 company.
Returning to her East Texas roots, Amy joined the Graduate Advising Office at Soules College of Business, UT Tyler, in 2009, aiding its inception and growth. She left UT Tyler for a few years to manage the elevator branch in Tyler. However, her passion for career development led her back to UT Tyler when she learned about the Career Success department. As the first Career Success Coach for Soules College of Business from 2019 to 2023, Amy thrived in guiding students' career development.
Following a two-year tenure in the non-profit sector as Ambassador Manager for Mercy Ships, Amy returned to UT Tyler in January 2025. She currently servces as the Career Success Coah within the College of Arts & Sciences and FIsch College of Pharmacy, connecting students with employers and collaborating with faculty and staff across the UT Tyler campus. Outside of her professional life, Amy enjoys spending time with her husband, children and four grandchildren and indulging in outdoor activities.
