Whitney Patterson, a native East Texan, graduated from UT Tyler in 2006. She served as UT Tyler’s first Americorps VISTA volunteer, later becoming the Executive Director of the Literacy Council of Tyler in 2020. With 17 years in the nonprofit sector, she's contributed to organizations like Tyler Junior College and Meals on Wheels North Central Texas.

Actively engaged in her community, Whitney serves on multiple boards, including the Women's Fund of Smith County and the Caldwell Arts Academy PTA. A Leadership Tyler Class 29 graduate, she's also involved with the United Way of Smith County and Christ Episcopal Church. Whitney and her husband, Tony, have two children and two dogs.
