Dr. Christy Gipson, an Associate Professor of Nursing, has over a decade of experience in nursing education. She holds a PhD from the University of Texas at Tyler and is a Certified Nurse Educator and certified in Effective College Instruction. She has published on sleep and nursing education and serves as the Accredited Provider Program Director, having overseen 20+ continuing nursing education programs, impacting 350+ Registered Nurses. 

Dr. Gipson is actively engaged in community service and research. She was an assistant coach for the softball team and was recently inducted into the East Texas Baptist University Athletics Hall of Fame in 2022. She is honored to be a part of the academic community at UT Tyler. She is passionate about teaching, service, and research and is grateful for the opportunity to invest in students and facilitate their growth. Dr. Gipson and her husband, Coby, have three children. In her free time, she enjoys spending time with her family and attending and serving in the youth ministry at their church.
