Why Attend the Fisch College of Pharmacy?
We take a forward-thinking, learner-focused approach designed to prepare our students
to serve their community. Our program is built on a solutions-oriented curriculum,
effective collaboration, boundary-pushing research, faculty excellence and a dedication
to improving the quality of life in East Texas and beyond. Find your future at a one-of-a-kind
institution. |
We are one of the few pharmacy programs in the country that uses a team-based learning
focused curriculum. Instead of traditional lectures, you'll work in groups and apply
newly learned concepts to solve problems. This approach not only grounds you in the
science of pharmacy but also hones critical thinking, interpersonal and communication
skills.
|
To help bridge the healthcare gap affecting rural and disadvantaged populations, learn
about the most pressing issues in our community and apply your skills in local clinics,
hospitals and organizations.
|
Dedicated to innovative research, Fisch College of Pharmacy faculty members conduct
their own groundbreaking studies that advance our knowledge in the field. Students
also have opportunities to actively participate in enriching research opportunities.
|
Prepare for the day-to-day tasks and challenges of being a pharmacist in a wide variety
of healthcare settings. Students complete 300 hours of Introductory Practice Experiences
in the first three years of the program and at least 1,440 hours of Advanced Pharmacy
Practice Experiences in the final year.
