Mission
To empower students to excel as nurse clinicians, leaders, and scholars in a caring, learner-centered, strengths-based environment.
Message from the Dean
Welcome to the UT Tyler School of Nursing!
Caring…learner-centered…strengths-based. These are not just words on paper; these are words we live by, and they are central to our mission. These values are among the many reasons the UT Tyler School of Nursing is unique among nursing schools across the country. We are also:
Flexible…accessible…accelerated. At UT Tyler, we offer numerous degree options for those seeking to either begin or enhance their nursing career. The BSN program offers three different tracks for entry-level or registered nurses and an accelerated time to completion through year-round programming. Our MSN programs include five degree and five certificate options in an online format that provide flexibility to meet the needs and aspirations of working professionals. Two doctoral programs offer nurses a clinically focused path (DNP) or a research trajectory (PhD) to develop change agents, leaders, and scientists prepared to solve complex problems.
Passionate…fearless…creative. Our outstanding faculty and staff are dedicated to preparing and empowering students to excel as nurse clinicians, leaders, and scholars. They are not afraid to try new approaches, new technologies, and explore new challenges.
Connected…immersed…leaders. School of Nursing students, faculty, and staff are deeply connected to our community. They are immersed in real world problem solving in collaboration with stakeholders throughout the region, state, and country. Our faculty and alumni serve in leadership positions in professional organizations and businesses and advocate for the health of our constituents at the local, state, and national level.
Whether you are interested in beginning a career in nursing, earning an advanced degree, or becoming a member of our UT Tyler faculty community, I encourage you to explore the many options at the UT Tyler School of Nursing and be prepared to be transformed!
