Shannon Meador, DO, believes that medication is only one facet of treatment along with therapy to improve mental health and overall well-being. Also, that it is important to address the whole person including physical health, nutrition, family life and spirituality.

Dr. Meador knew from a very young age that she wanted to be a doctor and believes that God gave her that desire. She was drawn to psychiatry and pediatrics during rotations in medical school and appreciated the deeper connections to her patients. She found a common thread in treating adults was a history of childhood trauma. She chose to do a child and adolescent fellowship to treat patients early on and hopefully help change their life trajectory.

In her spare time, Dr. Meador enjoys spending time with her dog Cooper, planting flowers and learning to grow vegetables. She attends church and Bible studies regularly, enjoys going to concerts and watching Auburn football.
