Jamon Blood, DO, is an assistant professor at The University of Texas at Tyler Health Science Center under the UT Tyler School of Medicine. Dr. Blood works with the fellowship and residency programs to train the next generation of psychiatrists. He also serves as the medical director for the Child Psychiatry Access Network (CPAN) - Northeast Texas, and is the principal investigator for the Texas Youth Depression & Suicide Research Network (TX-YDSRN).

Dr. Blood believes family has a great influence on a child's mental health and outcomes. Therefore, he works with the whole family when treating a child. "I believe you treat the whole family and not just the child. Working within the family system allows me to address all the challenges my patients are facing."

Inspired by a mission trip to Brazil, Dr. Blood's desire is to help his patients make positive changes in their lives. "I want to be able to help change a child's trajectory through their life," he said. "I love working with very young children to young adults. I'm also interested in working with those who have special needs."

When not working with patients, he enjoys spending time with his wife and kids, serving in his church, riding mountain bikes and dirt bikes, and all kinds of sports and outdoor activities, especially disc golf.
