Undergraduate Minors

Minor in Business Administration

A minor in business administration is available to students who are not pursuing a BBA (Accounting, FInance, Management or Marketing). The student must complete six to nine specified lower-division semester hours and 12 upper-division semester hours from the Soules College of Business as outlined in the above degree plan.

  • Beginning with the 2015-2016 catalog, completion of either the BS in Human Resource Development or the BS in Industrial Technology results in a minor in business administration. The business administration minor is required when pursuing a degree human resource development or industrial technology.

Minor in Management

A minor in management is not available to students who are pursuing a BBA in management. The student must complete up to nine semester hours of prerequisite coursework and 18 upper-division semester hours from the Department of Management and Marketing as outlined in the above degree plan.

Minor in Marketing

A minor in marketing is not available to students who are pursuing a BBA in marketing. The student must complete up to 12 semester hours of prerequisite coursework and 18 upper-division semester hours from the Department of Management and Marketing courses as outlined in the above degree plan.

Minor in Finance

A minor in finance is not available to students who are pursuing a BBA in finance. The student must complete nine hours of of prerequisite coursework and 15 upper-division semester hours from the Department of Finance as outlined in the above degree plan.

Minor in Human Resource Development

A minor in human resource development is not available to students who are pursuing a BS in human resource development. The student must complete 18 upper-division semester hours as outlined in the above degree plan.

Minor in Industrial Technology

A minor in industrial technology is not available to students who are pursuing a BS in industrial technology. The student must complete the courses outlined in the above degree plan.

Minor in Manufacturing Management

A minor in manufacturing management is not available to students pursuing a BS in industrial technology. The student must complete the courses as outlined in the above degree plan.

Minor in Computer Science

A minor in computer science is not available to students pursuing a BS in computer science. The student must complete the courses outlined in the above degree plan to earn a Minor in Computer Science.

Certificates 

Certificate in Leadership

  • This nine-hour certificate will incorporate courses in critical thinking, organizational behavior, and ethics as well as both the fundamentals and advanced topics in leadership. Talk to your advisor for more details.

Certificate in Business Legal Perspectives

Legal requirements of a variety of new federal laws and increased emphasis on whistleblower programs have increased company focus on regulation and compliance. A Business Legal Perspectives certificate provides students with a focus on the legal and ethical issues they might encounter in a variety of fields.

Certificate in Compliance and Diversity

Legal requirements of a variety of new federal laws and the SEC Whistleblower Program have increased company focus on regulation and compliance. Moreover, an increase in focus on Diversity and Inclusion initiatives within business entities has created a need for employees who are attuned and trained to address these initiatives. Compliance and Diversity Undergraduate Certificate Program provides additional knowledge to students about issues and requirements in diversity and compliance.
