PURPOSE

The UT Tyler Office of Health-Related Business Programs (HRBP) is committed to shaping the future of healthcare leadership. Located within the Soules College of Business, HRBP oversees executive education initiatives, healthcare leadership and interdisciplinary programs, and community engagement.

To bridge the gap between the clinical and business aspects of healthcare.

 

Initiatives

Executive-level program designed with a personalized, concierge approach 

  • Executive MBA in Healthcare Management Program (EMBA-HCM) is a specialized concentration, uniquely focused on healthcare specific courses offered in a lock-step approach and adapted to the ever-changing landscape of the healthcare industry. This unique program is offered in an executive format with program delivery and curriculum designed specifically for a cohort of working professionals - both clinical and administrative -admitted in the fall semester.

Advanced studies that foster career development through comprehensive curriculum.

  • The Healthcare Leadership Concentration (HLC) is offered at the graduate level to select health-related degree programs, PharmD and Nursing, in collaboration with the Soules College of Business. Upon successful completion of the required Healthcare Leadership coursework, the HLC is indicated on the academic transcript. Successful completion of each course requires a grade of “C” or better to be awarded the HLC; coursework may be applied toward the MBA degree. Coordinated MSN-MBA program students require grades of “B” or better for the coursework to apply to their degree plan.

  • The Healthcare Leadership Distinction program (HLD) program resides within the School of Medicine and provides a foundation of knowledge and applicable skills for medical students to utilize as they work towards becoming healthcare system leaders; including deans, CEOs, CMOs, etc. Students will develop self-awareness, leadership, and communication skills, and will learn to improve efficiency, reduce waste, and foster professional networks with peers, mentors, and community leaders. The MBA coursework that is offered as part of the HLD to medical students who elect to purse this distinction during medical school is coordinated by the office of HRBP.

HRBP has partnered with the The American College of Healthcare Executives (ACHE) East Texas chapter to offer exclusive opportunities for students at UT Tyler. Additionally, HRBP sponsors ACHE student memberships for select programs while enrolled at UT Tyler. 

The American College of Healthcare Executives is focused on the mission of advancing leaders and the field of healthcare leadership through networking, education, and career development.
