Message From the Dean
UT Tyler Soules College of Business
Dr. Krist Swimberghe, Dean
Welcome to the Soules College of Business:
Here you will find a unique environment where students, faculty, staff, alumni and employers learn and work together to prepare the next generation of business leaders and professionals. We are housed in the newest building on the UT Tyler campus. Our facilities include state-of-the-art classrooms, collaborative spaces, laboratories, research centers – and of course... a coffee shop where students can lounge and hang out in between classes.
As a student, you will engage with a diverse group of passionate faculty who represent nearly every continent on this earth. The vast majority of faculty hold terminal degrees, are experts in their fields; and many have substantial industry experience, both in the United States and abroad. In many courses, professors invite industry professionals to the classroom to share their knowledge and experience with students. In addition, it is pretty common for students to engage with industry clients and work on “real world” projects as part of their coursework.
The Soules College of Business offers various programs using the most current and flexible delivery strategies to meet the unique learning needs of students in areas like accounting, finance, management, marketing, computer information systems, computer science, information technology, general business, human resource development and industrial management. The College also offers an undergraduate degree in industrial technology at the Longview University Center (LUC).
Students can also earn master’s degrees in business administration (traditional or accelerated), accountancy, human resource development, industrial technology and computer science. Our newest MS degree launching in Spring 2023in Cybersecurity and Data Analytics. The College offers unique professional and interdisciplinary programs like the Master of Science in Nursing – Master of Business Administration Program (MSN to MBA) and an Executive MBA Healthcare Management Program. The College also offers a Ph.D. in human resource development using an executive format program whereby students only meet five times a semester. The Soules College of Business has earned two national and international accreditations for educational excellence. Degree programs in the Department of Technology are accredited by the Association of Technology, Management, and Applied Engineering (ATMAE). Only 69 colleges and universities hold this exceptional recognition. Degree programs in all traditional business disciplines (accounting, computer information systems, finance, general business, management and marketing) are accredited by the Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business (AACSB). AACSB accreditation represents the highest standard of achievement for business schools worldwide. Less than five percent of the more than 16,000 schools worldwide granting business degrees have earned AACSB accreditation.
Thank you for visiting our website. If you have any questions or want to visit with us on campus, please do not hesitate to reach out. We hope to see you soon!
