Lieber

Renowned journalist and political satirist Dave Lieber is bringing his signature style of humor and wisdom to The University of Texas at Tyler.

The Patriot Talon will present a Talon Talk titled, "The Selling of the President: Money Rides and BS Walks," featuring Lieber, who will discuss the ins and outs of an election year and provide insight into the political world for faculty, staff and students. The event will be 11:30 a.m. – 1 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 18 in the UT Tyler University Center Ballroom.

For more than 40 years, Lieber has been speaking and writing for audiences about politics, shedding a new light and a few laughs on a topic notorious for being dreary and stressful.

"As a daily newspaperman for 40 years, I not only covered politics and presidential elections, but I eventually figured out the secret to winning the U.S. Presidency," he said. "I can't wait to share my strategy on how to win in my talk, 'The Selling of the President: Money Rides and BS Walks.'"

Event sponsors include Talon Student Media, UT Tyler Honors Program, Model United Nations Program, Office of Student Leadership and Service, Proforma Horizon Total Source and Chipotle Mexican Grill.

Lieber is most commonly known for his Watchdog column in The Dallas Morning News, appearances on KXAS-TV, presentations and the various books he has written. He is passionate about speaking and putting a twist on topics, such as politics, to engage his audience. For more information, visit https://davelieber.org/.
