A student organization has been created to serve The University of Texas at Tyler College of Business and Technology, Dr. Harold Doty, college dean, announced.
The UT Tyler CBT Ambassadors will promote interest in the college and assist with recruitment and retention.
Founding student officers are Steven Goad of Tyler, president; Roy Lucio of Tyler, vice president; Cody Patterson of Tyler, marketing and public relations – Tyler; Jennifer Luce of Palestine, marketing and public relations – Palestine; Michael Odom of White Oak, Marketing and public relations – Longview; Jessica Curry of Tyler, treasurer; and Irak Ordorica of Tyler, secretary.
“We are very enthusiastic about what CBT Ambassadors has been able to accomplish in such a short time. They are fulfilling a critical need within the college,” Doty said.
The ambassadors have led freshman workshops covering study skills, time management and the challenges freshmen face. They also developed a “Going Green Project,” arranging several recycling bins in the UT Tyler Business and Hudnall-Pirtle-Roosth Buildings.
The organization will provide members with practical application in all aspects of project management, marketing plan design and implementation, human resource development and organizational finance and accounting.
Ambassadors also will seek to promote fellowship among students and provide a forum for the presentation of innovative ideas to benefit the college, Doty added.
