UT Tyler Division of Social Sciences

Social Sciences BA / BS Degree

The social sciences division in UT Tyler Department of Social Sciences offers the social sciences BA/BS degree program, preparing you for diverse career paths – from social work, public administration and law to anthropology, archaeology and environmental management.

Study the complexity and dynamics of human interaction in an interdisciplinary setting that blends sociology with anthropology and geography – and choose one of the three as your area of specialization.

You also will have excellent learning opportunities beyond the classroom, through internships and study abroad programs such as the Belize summer travel-study.

Each summer, Maya Research Program hosts the Blue Creek Archaeological Project at the Blue Creek Research Station in Belize. Participants include students from UT Tyler and other universities across the world.

The division also offers courses leading to minors in sociology, anthropology and geography.
